MultiSite – multiple websites in one system
K&K Holiday Properties GmbH & Co. KG has numerous properties, which it operates, among other things, as hotels. Examples include the project Zwei Wasser in Wustrow, the Hafenresidenz in Waren at the Müritz, the Aparthotel in Zingst, and a house in Krakow am See. For all these projects, multiple websites were to be created to showcase the hotels attractively and also enable online booking. Everything about a WordPress installation
We designed and developed the MultiSite system for K&K Ferienimmobilien GmbH & Co. KG. The key feature: A whole network of websites with their own domains, content, and style guidelines can be managed through a single WordPress installation. Nevertheless, it is possible to assign an individual admin to each website, ensuring that only the designated person has access to the backend of the respective page where they need to make edits.
When looking at our client’s four projects in the frontend, one notices that the modules themselves are similar. However, due to the extremely flexible options for making individual adjustments for each page, distinctly different individual designs emerge. Colors, logos, and separation elements can be changed, and the modules can be arranged individually as needed.
Connection to the booking system Destination Solutions
A major challenge was to connect the booking system of Destination Solutions to WordPress via API. For this purpose, a technically refined solution had to be developed individually, because the DS API was still relatively new and no available plugins or scripts for WordPress were available yet. With our development, the data for the holiday apartments (such as images, texts, prices, and availabilities) is retrieved live from the DS server. When booking through the website, the data is passed back to DS and synchronized with other linked booking platforms.
