Modernization of the corporate identity for a restaurant
In one of the oldest buildings in Mirow is the restaurant “Blaue Maus.” This venerable half-timbered structure has stood for over 250 years and has housed the traditional restaurant “Blaue Maus” for more than 100 years. “Blaue Maus” was opened in 1920 by Paul Handreak. As a pilot, he named the inn after his single-seater biplane, the Albatros DIII – affectionately called “Blaue Maus” because of its paintwork. The aircraft had a maximum speed of 165 km/h and an engine power of 170 HP.
Since 2005, the current owner Lars Pohlmann has been running the Blaue Mause. In 2017, a major renovation was carried out, and the interior was adapted to contemporary tastes, while maintaining the rustic charm and cozy atmosphere that have always characterized this place. Even the famous actor Heinz Rühmann is said to have enjoyed visiting the “Blaue Maus.” The restaurant stands for honest food with a regional character and offers guests fresh delicacies from the pasture and the lake. As a hunter with his own territory, the owner personally serves game meat from the nearby forest.
Now it was necessary to adjust the positioning. For this purpose, the corporate identity was revised by us as an agency.
The logo has been provided in several variants, and the corporate identity has been established with fonts, colors, and illustrations. A special highlight is the vectorization of the construction drawings of the Albatros DIII. This stylistic device with the aircraft cross-sections is the perfect decorative element for backgrounds in print designs, as an animated element in interactive job advertisements for social media, etc.
Particular praise was given to the menu by guests who positively highlighted the cross-sectional graphics of the Albatros DIII as a stylistic element. The menu is designed in such a way that it can also be easily modified at any time by the restaurant operator as a cloud document via Google Docs.
