ELBMED Prignitz

Since February 2022, we have been passionately working on a comprehensive rebranding and relaunch project for the Prignitz District Hospital in Perleberg. This ambitious endeavor included not only the development of a modern name and corporate design but also the revision of the website and printed materials. The result: a fresh and modern brand identity called ELBMED Prignitz, as well as a completely newly structured website that meets all the requirements of a modern hospital.

A fresh brand appearance: ELBMED Prignitz

In the first step, the new name ELBMED was developed. This modern and catchy brand name not only reflects the connection to the region but also gives the hospital a contemporary and youthful employer brand – a significant advantage, especially in recruiting medical professionals from both domestic and international sources. The name was successfully registered as a trademark in 2022, accompanied by a new, minimalist logo and a fresh corporate design in the colors green, light blue, and dark blue. Here visualized in a trade fair cube for the client:

Efficient structure and modern functionalities

The previous website of the hospital has been deconstructed and restructured. Instead of 200 subpages (excluding news, jobs, and appointments), a streamlined and clear platform with only 100 pages has been created, which consolidates content clearly.

The innovations include:

  • Improved navigation through various menus, a body compass, as well as a patient guidance system that digitally represents the correct color coding in the hospital on the website.
  • Integration of new imagery that radiates professionalism and warmth.
  • A modern appointment management system that provides patients with quick and easy access to medical services.
  • A comprehensive career section equipped with a user-friendly application form.

An agile way of working for results: Innovative tools and collaborative processes

We were aware that such a large project with many decision-makers would be challenging. Therefore, we tried to visualize all the work steps as much as possible so that it is easy to understand how the corporate brand and website presence will change. Instead of creating a documentation or a specification sheet with hundreds of pages, we preferred visual methods because they can be more easily grasped in terms of information presentation.

Our approach was as innovative as the result:

  • Sitemap and Structure Planning: The old website was analyzed and redesigned in a Google Sheet. It was visualized using MIRO and organized into clusters.
  • Wireframes and Prototypes: A total of 57 clickable wireframes were developed, which formed the basis for the final UX prototype with 71 artboards.
  • Voting and Collaboration: Thanks to close coordination meetings with the various clinics, chief physicians, and nursing management, a concept was developed that met the needs of all stakeholders.

Here is the image of the sitemap visualized in MIRO in a before-and-after comparison. It admittedly looks quite chaotic, but when zoomed in, it becomes clear where content clusters emerge and information can be better structured.

From this, a first clickable prototype was developed based on wireframes to perfectly coordinate each step with those responsible. This is a screenshot from the overview with the 58 associated artboards.

After implementing the requested changes and confirming the structure, the actual user interface was developed. This shows how extensive such a project can be.

With the developed page, old content was transferred in our test environment, new texts and images were integrated, a new flyer design for downloads was created, and so on.

A successful go-live

The new website went live in December 2024 – a complete success! The response was overwhelmingly positive, both from employees and patients. The relaunch marks an important milestone for ELBMED Prignitz and strengthens its position as a modern and patient-centered healthcare center in the region.

A special focus was also placed on high on-page quality as well as ensuring optimal page speed.

The website was designed as a multisite system based on WordPress. In the first quarter of 2025, five additional websites will be integrated into the system, allowing all websites to be managed through a single backend. We look forward to the work for the School of Health Professions, the senior centers in Wittenberge and Perleberg, the obesity center in Prignitz, as well as the Health Center Wittenberge and the service company of the district hospital Perleberg.

As part of the rebranding and the new corporate identity, we have also designed high-quality exhibition equipment for the ELBMED School of Health Professions. This includes a modern exhibition cube (see image above), two stylish roll-ups, and a large, attention-grabbing exhibition wall.

The design is clear, professional, and memorable, consistently reflecting the color scheme and corporate design of the brand. With this equipment, the school presents itself at trade fairs and events not only as modern and stylish but also makes a strong statement as an attractive training location for future professionals.

We are proud to have been part of this important project and look forward to continuing to support the development of ELBMED Prignitz. Finally, a special thank you to marketing consultant Jaqueline Braun for the great collaboration. She has driven this project on the client side and has always been a competent and warm partner in bringing this project to life.
